Shades custom My Little Pony 2by ~thatg33kgirl

Here is another collage view of Shades, my custom My Little Pony commission for

His base was a Starbeam, he was sculpted with Aves Apoxie, painted with acrylics, sealed with Mod Podge, and rehaired with a combo of Dollyhair Onyx and Raincloud. I'm really pleased with the way he turned out, he's soo cute!!!

My big obstacle with this one was his head, after painting and rehairing, I went to stick it on, and ended up getting glue all over everything, and his head still didn't fit right. So I decided to sand it down and make his head more flush to his body- which in the end was a good decision since he is based on a draft-ish horse design. Oh, and also, that tail took me awhile to figure out! I ended up sculpting it out of apoxy, adding a rather hefty chuck of hair with wire, and securing the wire in his torso with more apoxy. I think its pretty neat!
